- Abstract:
- This chapter provides a detailed review and description of the specifics of teaching reading at the secondary school level, including the types, skills, and abilities necessary for developing successful reading experience in English. Particular attention was paid to the goals of teaching reading, which are aimed not only at developing text perception skills, but also at developing critical thinking and understanding of semantic content in students. The research presents and analyzes a methodological technique – the «Fishbone» technique, purposed at developing reading skills. Its advantages were highlighted, such as structuring information, developing analytical thinking, and improving understanding of text material. It turned out that the use of this technique helps to activate students' cognitive activity and increase their interest in the language being studied. Thus, successful acquisition of reading skills in secondary school requires an integrated approach that combines knowledge of the age characteristics of students, a clear understanding of the learning goals, and the introduction of effective methodological techniques, such as the «Fishbone» technique. This makes the learning process more effective and exciting, creating a solid foundation for further language development.

- Abstract:
- The article presents the development and substantiation of a pedagogical model of the educational environment that ensures the formation of prerequisites for engineering thinking of older preschoolers. The main research methods are the analysis of scientific sources on the stated problem, generalization of pedagogical experience, pedagogical modeling. The result of the study was the clarification of the concept of "prerequisites for engineering thinking of an older preschooler", on the basis of which a pedagogical model for the formation of prerequisites for engineering thinking in older preschoolers was substantiated and developed. The theoretical significance consists in clarifying and supplementing the concept of "prerequisites for engineering thinking" of an older preschooler. The practical significance lies in the development of the author's model of the educational environment, which is described by the following components: value-oriented, content-technological and performance-evaluative. The components of the concept "prerequisites for engineering thinking of an older preschooler" allowed us to define a system of organizational and pedagogical conditions that model the educational environment for the development of prerequisites for engineering thinking in older preschoolers. This model can be used depending on the internal and external conditions in which the preschool carries out educational activities.

The impact of using chatbots on learning a foreign language in a non-linguistic university
Book Chapter
Psychological and pedagogical issues of modern education- Author:
- Elena G. Liakhova
- Work direction:
- Глава 7
- Abstract:
- The relevance of this study is determined by the fact that artificial intelligence and neural network chatbots are playing an increasingly important role in higher education; they often take over traditional methods of teaching a foreign language in non-linguistic universities. At the same time, the issue of the advantages of using artificial intelligence in teaching a foreign language remains open. The purpose of the chapter is to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using neural network chatbots in the process of teaching a foreign language in comparison with traditional teaching methods. To achieve this goal, the author uses experimental teaching of English to first-year future culturologists. As a result of the study, it was found that the process of assimilation of foreign language material when teaching a foreign language using chatbots differs from the process of assimilation while teaching traditionally. Significant differences were noticed at the stages of formation of motivation, presentation of new foreign language material, comprehension and rethinking of the new lexical and grammatical material. Such phenomena as clip thinking, the Google effect, and the devaluation of students’ memory with the constant use of digital devices have a particularly strong influence on changes in the learning process. Techniques are proposed to neutralize the negative impact of neural network learning on students, when implemented, an increase in the effectiveness of teaching a foreign language using neural network chatbots is observed.

Peculiarities of the development of arbitrariness of mental cognitive processes in primary school children
Research Article
Development of education Volume 8 No 1- Authors:
- Svetlana A. Elantseva, Victoria A. Uslamina
- Work direction:
- Psychology in Education
- Abstract:
- The relevance of the study lies in understanding the development of cognitive and regulatory functions in primary school-age children, which is crucial for their adaptation to the modern socio-cultural context. Rapid changes in technology and education require the development of volitional processes such as attention, memory, planning, and self-organization, key for academic and social adaptation. The study was conducted with a sample of 60 children (ages 8-9) from the Municipal Autonomous Educational Institution Secondary School No. 31 in Ishim. Diagnostic techniques assessed various aspects of volitional functions: goal-setting, forecasting, planning, correction, flexibility, adaptability, and reflection. Methods used included "Template," "Running Goose," "Simple Instructions Test," "Circles," and others, with data analysis performed using the φ* criterion – Fisher’s angular transformation. Most children’s voluntary cognitive and regulatory functions are in an active process of formation, with their components developing unevenly. Prediction, adaptability, and mnemonic abilities develop faster and more efficiently than goal setting, planning, correction, flexibility of actions, reflection, and attentional abilities. The study confirms the need for psychological and pedagogical support to enhance volitional functions in younger schoolchildren, aiding their successful academic and social adaptation.
