Ukrainian in Russian Context: Pattern, Folklore and Ethnic Symbols (on the Exsples of Epigraphes in "The Fair at Sorochyntsi" of N.V. Gogol)
Research ArticleEthnic Culture No 1 (1)- Authors:
- Aleksandr V. Savchenko, Anna G. Bodrova
- Work direction:
- Problems of Crosslinguistic and Intercultural Communication
- Abstract:
- In this article, from the linguistic and ethnoculturological points of view are analyzed Ukrainian texts of epigraphs in «The Fair at Sorochyntsi» by N.V. Gogol, included in the Russian-language prose, which is an integral part of Russian literature, culture and history. Purpose of the article: This work is an attempt to interpret Ukrainian conceptual symbols, images and metaphors used by the author to create a special atmosphere of Ukrainian identity. Methods: In the study the methods of contextual-pragmatic and lexical analysis are used. In particular, the subject of our study is the Ukrainian texts of the epigraphs to each of the chapters of the above-mentioned literary work, which, due to insufficient knowledge of the Ukrainian cultural context, are far from always deeply understood by the Russian reader and do not always evoke the same associative series as the bearer of the Ukrainian worldview, although close to the Russian one, but still significantly different from it. Results: As a result of the study it is possible to state, that here we deal with the problem of the difference in the cultural perception and understanding the original significance, laid down by N. Gogol in the text and the meaning of his work. It is concluded that the analyzed text of Gogol demonstrates not only the cultural similarity of the two peoples, but, which seems to be more important, the differences in the worldview and way of life of Ukrainians and Russians. The epigraphs in Ukrainian cited by the writer at the beginning of the each chapter serve as a kind of «textual marker», which helps the reader to delve deeper into the content of the text and try to understand not only explicit meaning but also implicit senses implied by the author in its structure.

The main problem addressed in the study is the application of functional-semantic description techniques and the ideas of geo-russistics to the practice of compiling a new type of linguocultural dictionary describing the regional version of the Crimean Russian language and representing the basic elements of the regional concept sphere. The purpose of article is to analyze the concept «Crimean regional version of the Russian literary language» in relation to the task of compiling the Russian linguocultural dictionary of the Crimea. The following principles are recognized as innovative concepts of the «Russian Linguocultural Dictionary of the Crimea»: interdisciplinarity, functional-semantic approach to considering the relationship between a concept and means of its vernal implementation, regionalism, ideographic principle of modeling the conceptual continuum of a dictionary, historical and cultural commentary. The study examined the content of the term «regiolect», which is understood as a variant of the literary language formed in conditions of interacting with non-literary forms (dialect, vernacular, etc.) and / or other languages in the socio-cultural conditions of a particular region. - Abstract:
- This section focuses on issues of improving the methodology of Russian language teaching and efficiency of teaching Russian in a multicultural environment with the use of elements of spiritual (including folklore) culture in educational institutions of the Mari El Republic (humanitarian gymnasiums, secondary and higher educational institutions). The authors of the section demonstrate the features of using folklore in the main areas of activities (both class and extracurricular) of experimental network platforms (FIRO) and the pedagogical workshop (Prosveshcheniye Publishers) and conclude that such projects, aimed at the sociocultural adaptation of Russian youth and their socialization and culturalization, are extremely important in the aspect of harmonizing interpersonal and intercultural relations in the modern Russian society. By referring to several facts of traditional Russian culture in their teaching of Russian as a foreign language, the authors of the monograph (E.A. Plotnikova, M.N. Pirogova) have received a certain positive response. It is evident that at the initial stage of learning, the students should acquire a kind of linguistic minimum, which includes knowledge about the culture of the country, its traditions, the distinctive features of verbal and non-verbal communication, etc. In such cases, the use of innovative pedagogical technologies, including olympiads and quests, usually provides positive results.

- Abstract:
- In order to maintain competitiveness, in order to meet the requirements of a constantly changing environment, almost any organization needs development. In this regard, there are certain problems that often require immediate solutions. And the educational organization of higher education is no exception. The main thing is to identify adverse circumstances (i.e. problems) in time and correctly, identify opportunities (favorable circumstances) and find ways to solve existing problems. At present, there are various problems of modern technical education – this is the rapid development of modern technologies (their appearance is much faster than the existing timeline for training specialists), and high competition (now knowledge-intensive and high-tech projects are preferred), and the complexity of training combined with the isolation of many teachers from real practical activities, and at the same time the graduates' reluctance to go to work on the received specialty, given the relatively low wages. The problems of higher technical education outlined in the presented material were revealed through a survey of students (future engineers, economists and managers) and suggested ways to solve them.

Book ChapterEducation and science: current trends No 3- Author:

- Парадигмы современной науки
- Abstract:
- The article shows the image of Heracles – the greatest hero of ancient Greece – in early Russian art, as well as in the writings of chroniclers, scholars and enlighteners of the 10–19th centuries. It is established that throughout the history of Ancient Rus and then of Russia, Hercules was perceived with an exceptionally positive side, despite the pagan roots of his image. Condemnation occasionally was the fact of his deification by the Greeks and Romans. The image of Heracles was positively adopted by the Orthodox Church, which relied on the Byzantine doctrine, where Heracles was also viewed as a charitable fighter of monsters and a defender of people from evil. As a result or research it was revealed that Heracles had exceptional popularity in Russian art and literature, where he performed in a classical Hellenistic manner. He remained the standard of physical strength, human power and at the same time – a model of nobility, the ruler of the twelve great labours. The article contains materials from the author's monograph with the working title «Twelve of Labours of Heracles in ancient literature and numismatics».
