- Abstract:
- The training of undergraduates in the pedagogical field (students of the second stage of higher education) includes not only the development of competencies enshrined in the federal state educational standard of higher education, but also the formation or consolidation of skills such as the ability to cope with extreme professional situations, flexibility in difficult situations, mobilization of moral and volitional efforts to achieve their goals, etc. The ability to succeed in school despite social barriers and difficulties, i.e. academic resistance reaches its greatest relevance by the time of graduate studies. Cognitive activity contributes to the most complete assimilation of educational information and the formation of professional competencies. Information about the relationship between academic resistance and cognitive activity of undergraduate students is the subject of this paper. In the course of the work, the following methods were used – the full version of the Scale of individual academic Resistance (adaptation of R. S. Zvyagintsev) and a method for diagnosing the motivation of learning and emotional attitude to learning (A. D. Andreeva, A. M. Prikhozhan). The study revealed the relationship between academic resilience and cognitive activity, as well as the greater influence of cognitive activity components on academic resilience.

- Abstract:
- This chapter discusses a three-level model of learning motivation, which includes the levels of general and academic emotional orientation, as well as the level of specific learning motives. The study used the following methods: «General Emotional Orientation» (Dodonov, 1978), «Academic Emotional Orientation» (Glotova, 2025), «Diagnostics of University Students’ and High School Students’ Learning Motivation» (Badmaeva, 2004), «Academic Motivation Scales» (Gordeeva, Sychev, Osin, 2014), «Comprehensive Assessment of Learning Motivation – Pilot Scales» (Glotova, Shipilova, 2025). The study, conducted using a Google form, was voluntarily and anonymously participated by 86 school students of grades 10–11 and college students. When processing data, correlation analysis (by Spearman) was used. The results of the study confirmed the hierarchical structure of learning motivation, which includes three levels with multiple significant correlations between them; despite the different names of the scales of three methods due to the theoretical and methodological preferences of the authors, a large number of significant correlations have been obtained between these scales; the scales of motives for subject activity in learning correlate more closely with each other than with the scales of communication motives, and vice versa, the scales of communication motives in learning correlate more closely with each other than with the scales of subject activity motives; the three levels of learning motivation are related to the categories of «activity», «actions» and «operations» of learning proposed by A.N. Leontiev (1975).

- Abstract:
- The development of educational export is an important strategic task both for Russian universities at the institutional level, allowing them to increase the level of global competitiveness, and at the state level, ensuring the implementation of the principles of the «soft power» strategy. Both of these goal-settings contribute to the achievement of national interests through attraction and persuasion. To increase the efficiency of the export of Russian education and high-quality training of specialists for the global labor market, it is necessary to develop effective methods, mechanisms and technologies for improving the intercultural adaptive environment of educational organizations, which became the main goal of this study. Cultural diversity is a key value guide for the classification of cultures of peoples and countries, as well as an important criterion for the effective management of multicultural groups and organizations. In the context of educational organizations, cultural diversity is becoming a powerful driver for the development of competencies in the host institutions for foreign students, but it is important to systematically approach all components of an intercultural adaptive environment based on the implementation and scaling of best practices. In this study, based on a sociological survey of foreign students in Russian universities, priority adaptation tools are systematized both along the internal contour of the educational organization, as well as and in external bilateral and network interactions. The research recommendations are both strategic in nature, defining the fundamental tasks of educational organizations to create an intercultural adaptive environment, and of an applied and methodological nature, based on proposals regarding the development of specific tools for intercultural adaptation.

- Глава 5
- Abstract:
- Ensuring environmental safety is a priority task for all countries. Sustainable development of the state, high quality of life and health of its population can be ensured provided that high quality of the environment is maintained. In Russia, the scale of pollution by production and consumption waste has reached a critical level, posing a serious threat to national environmental security. Large industrial regions of the country face the most serious environmental problems. The purpose of the study is to study regional problems of ensuring environmental safety. In the chapteruses such research methods as analysis of theoretical sources, study of official statistics, comparative analysis. The indicators characterizing the state of the environment of the Sverdlovsk region for 2021–2023 were analyzed. It was concluded that according to the National Environmental Rating in 2023 (autumn rating), the region was in last place, i.e. it was the worst region in the country in terms of environmental indicators. Despite the improvement of certain indicators for 2021–2023 (reduction in the volume of generated waste, the share of the population in cities with high levels of air pollution, discharge of polluted wastewater, etc.), the level of pollution of the atmosphere, water resources and soils in the region is very high. Success in solving environmental problems in the region largely depends on the implementation of an integrated approach, including economic (increased investment in environmental projects), social (increased environmental literacy of the population) and technological changes (digitalization and modernization of industry).

- Abstract:
- This study investigated the relationship between coping strategies and academic resilience among pupils with special needs in Kwara Central, Nigeria. A descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population was all children with special needs in primary and secondary schools of the State. The sample comprised 400 pupils with special needs purposely selected from 20 schools, both special and regular schools. Two data collection instruments used included the Coping Strategies Rating Scale (CSRS) and Pupils’ Academic Resilience Rating Scale (PARRS), validated for face and content validity and tested for reliability with coefficients of 0.82 and 0.85, respectively. Descriptive statistics of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation was used to analyse the two questions raised while inferential statistics of Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to analyse the only hypothesis formulated at the 0.05 level of significance. The results revealed moderate levels of coping strategies (weighted mean = 2.40) and academic resilience (weighted mean = 2.44). The result also showed a strong a positive correlation between coping techniques and academic resilience (r-value is 0.713). These findings indicate the need to focus on building appropriate coping mechanisms to promote resilience in children with exceptional needs. Based on the findings, the study recommended teacher training, appropriate learning methodologies, and supporting school policies to increase children' adaptive capacities and boost academic resilience among children with exceptional needs.

The Continuous tence forms of the English language in the cognitive-semiotic aspect
Research Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 6 No 4- Authors:
- Elena E. Chikina, Elena D. Arabey
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The article offers a cognitive-semiotic analysis of English Continuous tense forms. The purpose of this study is to analyze the internal form of Continuous tenses which are considered as grammatical phraseological units. By describing the cognitive phraseosemantic modelling of ‘conceptual complexes’ through grammar means the authors endeavour to define and formulate basic cognitive-semiotic features of English Continuous tense forms. As a result it is concluded that the general cognitive model of the Continuous tenses actualises the discursive identity between the Actant-Subject and the Actant-predicate noun expressed by the gerund of the meaningful verb. This model expresses the semantics of a confined action developing in a limited spatio-temporal frame without a rigid attachment to the temporal markers of the beginning and end of the action. Different Continuous tenses show different positions of the observing subject in relation to the time of action, as well as modifications of the basic cognitive model of Continuous. For Present Continuous and Past Continuous, the specificity of their discourse syntagmatics is that the position of the observing subject differs. Future Continuous is characterised by a modified model of Actant-Subject and Actant- predicate noun identity, which develops an additional cognitive parameter. In this case the paradigmatic dependence of the predicate noun on the subject of an statement is observed. The paper also considers the cognitive model of the construction to be going to + infinitive as a special case of the cognitive model of Continuous.

- Abstract:
- The acting technique «Demidov études» is a little-known method of the actor training, which was developed in the middle of the twentieth century by the Russian theater pedagogue and director N.V. Demidov. It is based on developing creative intuition, spontaneity, organicity, improvisational and partnership abilities, which, in turn, contribute to achieving creative freedom. The current research deals with the assessment of the creative freedom of students trained in the acting technique «Demidov études». The material of the research is the appropriate skills and competences developed by professional theater and film actors, amateur theaters actors and theater studios participants. The results of the study show that the «Demidov's Études» technique is quite effective in developing a student’s creative freedom. This technique allows actors to directly respond to the right-now-given circumstances, to feel and interact with a partner more subtly, to become more deeply involved in the process of creating a character, to free themselves from standard schemes and norms, and to show their individuality. However, the potential risks of this method include actors’ developing a dismissive attitude towards the author's text and a tendency to unjustifiably interrupt their scene partners.
