  • University lecture: experience of teaching chemistry to foreign students

    Abstract:
    The article presents the experience of teaching chemistry to foreign students of a medical university. To facilitate the understanding of educational material in chemistry by foreign students, the didactic potential of university lectures has been expanded. Every year, Russian universities accept citizens from more than 170 countries to study. The annual growth in the number of foreign students corresponds to the national course for further integration into the educational and scientific community of the allied states. The relevance of the study is determined by the need of Russian universities to develop educational and methodological materials in a foreign language for training programs for foreign students. The aim of this study is to facilitate the understanding of lecture material, and, as a result, to increase the effectiveness of teaching chemistry to foreign students of a medical university through the use of an English-language course of lectures in the learning process. Within this work, using the method of students questionnaire survey, a pedagogical study of the attitude of foreign students to the use of a course of chemistry lectures in English was carried out. The study involved 80 foreign students of Altai State Medical University, citizens of far abroad countries. It was found that the described course of lectures minimizes the difficulties of foreign students' perception of large amounts of educational material (97.5% of respondents), increases the efficiency of independent work (92.5%), helps to overcome the language barrier when teaching in an intermediary language (67.5%), as a result, there is a general interest of foreign students in chemistry as a science (95%), facilitating of educational material understanding and an increase in academic performance (96.2% of those who successfully passed the exam in chemistry compared to 60% of students in the control group). Thus, we came to the conclusion that the use of a developed English-language course of lectures in the teaching chemistry makes it easier for students to perceive the lecture material and improve the quality of chemistry education for foreign students.

    Abstract:
    September 2020 was the 10th anniversary of the dual education system in Russia. Germany (German school) is considered to be the ancestor of dual education. Its elements can be found in the systems of professional education in many European and Asian countries [2]. Today the dual system of professional education has received worldwide recognition – it is the most widespread and recognized form of personnel training, which combines theoretical training (in our country – 40%, in Germany – 20–25%) in an educational institution and industrial training (75–80% at the enterprises). This model of training is used in specialized secondary and higher educational institutions, and is financed jointly with business, which is interested in qualified personnel, and the state. The new training system should "arm" the graduates with three main competences, behavioral and personal qualities: Decision-making skills (Soft Skills); professional qualities (Hard Skills), because unprofessionalism is ruining Russia; modern technologies (Digital Skills).

    The chapter deals with the organization of the educational process in a technical university for master’s students in the discipline «Foreign language in the professional field» with the introduction of technologies of provocative pedagogy; the advantages of using these technologies in order to increase the interest of master’s students in the material being studied, the degree of assimilation of educational material, motivation and their effective interaction and compensation for the lack of a language environment have been revealed. The paper substantiates the need to use these technologies, techniques and teaching aids, depending on the level of foreign language proficiency of students; examples of tasks for the proposed technologies were given and an analysis of the effectiveness of the developed tasks was carried out.

    Abstract:
    The chapter describes the problems of teaching propaedeutics of childhood diseases, which were discussed at the third All-Russian conference «Knowledge of propaedeutics is the basis of clinical thinking of a pediatrician." The characteristics of modern textbooks on this discipline, published in Russia in the last 15 years, are given, their advantages and disadvantages are described. The educational and methodological manuals and workshops published in SPbGPMU on separate sections of the program at the Department of Propaedeutics of Children's Diseases are described. Discussions are presented on the methodology of teaching practical skills, innovations in teaching and traditional work at the bedside, methods for assessing the physical development of children and childhood nutrition. It is emphasized that the formation of a student's motivation for learning largely depends on the personality of the teacher, his human qualities, charisma, competence and empathy.

    The article presents an overview of methodological approaches to the formation of self-control among students of grades 5-6 in the study of mathematics. The analysis of the state of this issue showed that in the works of A.A. Krylov, S.D. Yakushev and G.K. Selevko, etc., the importance of self-control within the framework of organizing independent work in the classroom and in the works of A.G. Mordkovich, Yu.M. Kolyagin, etc. in general, when studying mathematics on the example of a numerical line is indicated. It is proved that one of the means of forming self-control among students of grades 5-6 are assessment sheets, which include the objectives of studying the subject content, a route sheet for the lesson with the stages of academic work, a system of reflexive assessments.

    In work the urgency of the problem of the development of professional competencies is substantiated, since future medical workers have a contradiction between their psychological readiness and practical abilities to perform professional labor functions. The importance of creating a practice-oriented educational environment as a determinant of the formation of students' professional knowledge and professional experience is emphasized.     Introduction. The methodological support of the educational process is considered from the point of view of the didactic construction of the information environment of education using technical pedagogical tools in the implementation of the pedagogical technology "learning through teaching". To increase the complexity of the teaching content, the effectiveness of combining the "learning through teaching" approach with information technologies is considered proven. The most developed idea of such a combination is the introduction of a "pedagogical agent (comrade)", which carries out communication with the subject area and is an analogue of an expert system. From the point of view of designing an information learning environment, we can talk about using technical tools or their analogs as boundary objects. Horizontal interaction of participants with each other in the implementation of the technology "learning through teaching" generates new boundary objects that can be considered as the basis of methodological support of the educational process. The combination of these two approaches is the theoretical basis of part of the research carried out at the Department of Algorithmic Mathematics of SPBSET "LETI". Results. The role and place of teaching materials in the implementation of the technology "learning through teaching" is presented. The changes in the understanding of the content of teaching are confirmed not only in direct active "teaching", but also in the preparation of teaching materials.

    The chapter examines the category of verbs with reflexive meaning, draws analogies with similar verbs in some foreign languages, raises the problem of using an intermediary language when presenting grammatical material to foreign students, provides a comparative characteristic of verbal units with reflexive meaning in English and Russian, justifies the expediency of teaching foreign English-speaking students reflexive verbs of the Russian language on the basis of comparative analysis. As a result of the study, the authors conclude that the systematic analysis of didactic materials, submitted on the basis of comparison and comparison of reflexive verbal units with their correspondences or analogues in other languages, helps to create the necessary algorithms for task complexes aimed at teaching foreigners grammar of Russian as a foreign language not only in the classroom under the guidance of a teacher, but also with online learning on various educational platforms, both in remote mode and in the mode of independent work.

  • Using a Situational-Game Approach at the English Lessons in the Secondary General School

    The article considers the features of using the situational-game approach as a means of forming lexical skills in English language lessons at the secondary school level. The aim of the work is to study the use of a situational-game approach in teaching English to develop the lexical skills of a student studying at a secondary school, to propose and test methodically during the experiment techniques that should increase the effectiveness of teaching. In accordance with the goal, the following tasks were formed: to develop a set of exercises for teaching grade 6 students foreign language vocabulary using a situational-game approach; to apply a situational-game approach in English lessons. The theoretical significance of the work consists in a systematic approach to teaching lexical means, formulation of requirements for working with these means at the stages of training and output to speech, development of new ways of generalization and activation of lexical material. The practical significance of the work is connected with the fact that the results of the study can be used directly in the educational process when teaching foreign language vocabulary in the conditions of secondary school, contributes to improving the efficiency of the process of teaching the Russian language. The article presents examples of the use of situational-game approach in English lessons in the 6th grade of secondary school. During the experiment, all the goals and objectives were achieved, and the expediency of the proposed set of pedagogical conditions for the effective implementation of the system of formation of lexical skills in schoolchildren by using a situational-game approach in the process of learning English was confirmed. Based on the above, it can be concluded that the use of a situational-game approach when studying vocabulary in English lessons gives a positive dynamic, and also solves all the tasks.

    The purpose of the article is based on the analysis of materials published in the pre-October period and in the first post-revolutionary years to identify theoretical ideas and practical developments in the field of pedagogy, which formed the basis for the design of the Soviet labor school. Research material. The main sources of the research are scientific and pedagogical publications of representatives of Western pedagogical thought and Russian pedagogy, published in the first decades of the XX century. Research results and conclusions. The analysis of the research source base allowed us to identify the ideological foundations formed in the late XIX – early XX centuries, on which the theory and practice of the labor school were built. However, by the end of the 1920s, in the conditions of the aggravation of the inconsistency of the proclaimed ideas with the requirements of the emerging Soviet state-political system, the increase of errors and shortcomings in their implementation, the model of the labor school ceased to be in demand.

  • Learning Toponyms at School

    The article is devoted to the issues of learning toponyms at school. The relevance of the topic is determined by the effectiveness of using toponyms to form students' cultural competencies, to achieve their personal, meta-subject and subject results. Practice shows that the names of geographical objects always arouse great interest among students. Methods used in the study: analysis of scientific and methodological literature on this topic; study and generalization of the experience of teachers working on this topic; observation of the educational process. The results of the work are identification of the most effective methods of using toponyms in the lessons of the Chuvash language and literature for the implementation of educational and educational tasks, compilation of a questionnaire for collecting toponyms, development of methodological recommendations for the organization of research activities of students on this topic. The practical value of this work is determined by the possibility of applying its results by teachers in the classroom and outside of school hours. The author comes to the conclusion that studying the names of geographical objects helps to achieve the planned results, develop cultural competence, learn the history and culture of the native land, realize that language is not only a means of cognition and communication, but also a form of expression of national culture.

    Abstract:
    The chapter discusses the competence-based approach to the implementation of training during the practice period. The author presents in the form of a table the main types of tasks aimed at developing the professional competencies of future teachers. The conditions of pedagogical practice for students and their impact on the development of professional competencies were also studied. The author is of the opinion that practice-oriented training and individualization are the main conditions for the organization and development of the internship program by heads of educational institutions and methodologists of higher education. The author also considers the basic requirements for the organizers of the practice and analyses the current state of the problem of organizing the practice of students based on documents in the field of education and regulatory documents of a particular educational institution.

    Abstract:
    In the chapter of the monograph an organizational and activity model of project-organized advanced additional professional pedagogical education (hereinafter referred to as APPE) is presented, which is the basis for the activities of the center for scientific and methodological support of teachers of the K. Minin State Pedagogical University based on the analysis of scientific approaches to the development of the category "advanced education". A universal way of solving urgent problems of evolutionary improvement of the system of vocational education and training and an organizational and managerial mechanism for building a space of opportunities for continuous professional development of teachers is proposed.
