- В статье отражены результаты анализа наиболее типичных лингвистических трансформаций, задействованных в процессе перевода текстов медицинских инструкции по применению лекарственных препаратов. Исследование проводилось с использованием следующих методов: метод сплошной выборки, переводческий анализ, метод количественных подсчетов. На основе проведенного исследования можно выявить некоторые закономерности применения лексических трансформаций при переводе аннотаций к лекарственным препаратам.

About the implicit variant of the affix of the third person of the category of possession of nouns in the Chuvash language

- The article deals with the spelling of nominal word combinations in the Chuvash language, the components of which are connected by an implicit version of the affix of the third person. The work points to the contradiction in the orthography of similar word combinations: кĕреке пуçĕ "toast-master", вăйă пуçĕ "head of the game", кĕтÿ пуçĕ "leader of the pack" (separately) – пирĕн çулпуç "our leader", гений çулпуç "brilliant leader" (in one word). The modern spelling dictionaries do not include a number of word combinations, which are identical in structure with the syntagmas represented in dictionaries in the joined-up writing. The author proves that a separate spelling corresponds to the orthography of all nominal syntagmas.

- In this article, modern trends in the understanding of the summary as a type of text are indicated, the concept of "summary" as a product of summаrizing is clarified, differences of the summary from the abstract are examined. The author gives the typology of summary and the main requirements for their compilation and evaluation. In this work informаtive аnd indicаtive summаries аre distinguished. The monographic, summary, aspect, fragment, target, general and questionnaire summаries are singled out, and also the features of each of the presented types are considered.

- Abstract:
- The article is concerned with the problem of academic writing skills’ development in postgraduate students of nonlinguistic technical universities in the process of professionally-oriented language teaching. Results of the research work conducted by the university graduates are traditionally presented in specialized scientific journals, which requirement is to provide every publication with the annotation written in English. As practice shows, most of the students experience various difficulties in writing annotations in English. We identified mistakes that are most frequently committed by undergraduate students and developed a modified teaching technology aimed at their elimination and development of academic writing skills. The elaborated modified teaching technology consists of 6 steps and is employed in the process of professionally-oriented foreign language teaching.
