Social and psychological foundations of the autonomy of political consciousness
Proceeding
Pedagogy, Psychology, Society: from theory to practice- Authors:
- Aleksandr D. Pokhilko, Andrei A. Danilov
- Work direction:
- Образование и право
- Abstract:

Language loyalty to the ethnic language among the Hausa community in Khartoum
Research Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 7 No 2- Author:
- Muhammad N. Osman
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- This article presents the results of a comprehensive study of the language loyalty of Hausa speakers in the urban environment of Khartoum. Based on field data collected in 2022–2025 (one hundred in-depth interviews and questionnaires), the key factors influencing the preservation of the ethnic language in the diaspora community are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the intergenerational dynamics of language preferences, strategies of language socialization, and the role of language attitudes in identification processes. An analysis of language loyalty in the Hausa diaspora environment showed that, in addition to the traditional criterion of recognizing an ethnic language as native, important indicators include practices of preserving cultural heritage. In the Khartoum diaspora, a special role is played by maintaining song traditions and watching foreign films in the Hausa language, and regular meetings of community representatives. For most respondents, the native language performs a predominantly symbolic function, serving as a marker of group identity and a bearer of cultural values. In general, the results demonstrate a complex picture of language shift, where the traditional “home-street-school” triad undergoes significant transformations under the influence of urbanization processes. The study makes a significant contribution to understanding the mechanisms of language stability in the context of Arabic-African language contact.

Nationalism and Populism: identity and differences
Book Chapter
Development of the Russian socio-economic system: challenges and prospects- Author:
- Aleksandr I. Kugai
- Work direction:
- Глава 14
- Abstract:
- The article discloses the logic of populism and nationalism, presents the rationale: when and why these discourses historically arise, and what function they perform in modern politics. First of all, nationalism and populism are internally intertwined, have a common structural origin, they cannot be completely separated from each other, even if it is possible to distinguish the ideal–typical logic of these phenomena. Secondly, nationalism and populism manifest themselves in various forms: the vitality of "banal" nationalism is accompanied by the almost ubiquitous presence of "subtle" populism. Thirdly, the problem of the relationship of nationalism and populism to modern democracy is, in principle, intractable. Nationalism and populism are absolutely necessary for the functioning of modern democracy, as they offer a solution to the border problem and the problem of political representation. Accordingly, without a minimum layer of nationalism and populism, the modern democratic community would disintegrate before it could form.

Book Chapter
Culture. Science. Education: Current Issues- Author:

- Глава 1. Культура
- Abstract:
- The most relevant features of the French Enlightenment are studied in the article. One of the features is ambivalence, that was expressed in most of the theoretical judgments by representatives of the era. The main ideas of the French Enlightenment are presented through the prism of the historical formation of the basic concepts: nature, human brain, culture. It is emphasized that the main achievement of the enlighteners in the cultural reformation of society was to combat religious and moral prejudices. It is noted that the value of enlighteners is in their innovative attempt to create a progressive model of cultural development based on a naturalistic and mechanical and deterministic picture of the world. The philosophical and cultural analysis revealed the internal dynamics of the enlighteners' ideas from civilizational optimism to criticism of civilizational progress. It is concluded that the philosophical and theoretical legacy of the Enlightenment, in the framework of the development of a single paradigm, is integral, logical and actually complete, that made the most use of its methodological and heuristic potential.
