Chuvash Proverbs and Sayings as an Ethnopedagogical Means of Introducing Traditional Family Values
Review ArticleDevelopment of education Volume 6 No 4- Author:

- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- In modern society, the family is an important component of universal culture that preserves traditional national values. In the conditions of ongoing social changes leading to the growth of national self-consciousness, return to the roots, destruction of stereotypes, change of attitude to family values, it is necessary to preserve the understanding of the family as a traditional social institution. In this regard, the study of proverbs and sayings reflecting universal and national family values is of great importance. The aim of the study is to identify and substantiate family values in the upbringing of the younger generation in modern Chuvash families. The article considers traditional family values as the foundation of a strong and friendly family. The analysis of Chuvash proverbs and sayings about family life and family relations in the article shows that the Chuvash people place family values highly, brought up on national cultures and traditions. Our practical research shows that children's attachment to their parents is increasingly weakening. The lack of understanding of their children's behavior is explained by the following reasons: 1) parents' lack of fundamental pedagogical knowledge and skills; 2) parents' neglecting the basics of Chuvash family upbringing based on spiritual and moral values in the upbringing of their children. The author argues that the study of the basics of ethnic pedagogy will give positive results in the upbringing of children. The article used both general theoretical methods, including both the analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature on the topic under consideration, including encyclopedic and reference literature, folklore works, and empirical methods, including pedagogical observation, the use of questionnaires and surveys, and generalisation of ethnopedagogical experience. The experimental work was carried out to determine the moral potential of traditional family values in the Chuvash family. The author comes to the conclusion that Chuvash families have preserved national customs and traditions that they inherited from their ancestors in order to pass on to the next generations as a common reference point in their family life.

- Abstract:
- The main purpose of the study is to investigate students’ views about the implementation of collaborative learning in English classes. Collaborative learning helps students to improve their English language performance. To achieve this objective, observation and questionnaires were employed. The quantitative data were analyzed using percentage and frequency. Theme analysis technique was used to analyze the qualitative data. The result of the study indicated that most students’ applied collaborative learning, but the type of collaborative learning they are applying is not collaborative learning. Most of the teachers simply make their students to sit side by side to talk with each other as they do their individual assignments, and some teachers assign a task to groups. Then, one or two of the group members do the work and the other group members get equal credit. Although each of these is important in collaborative learning, they do not qualify collaborative learning rather traditional group learning. In addition to this, some students were not playing their roles as they are expected. Teachers and other concerned bodies ought to deliver sorts of orientations to the students about the importance of collaborative learning to maximize students’ views before implementing collaborative learning.

A Large City as a Precursor to the Development of Alternative School Education
Research ArticleDevelopment of education Volume 6 No 4- Authors:

- Abstract:
- A large city 'gives birth' to groups of carriers of certain ideas, values, and attitudes, who seek each other out. Parents choose schools that appear closer to their own values, where the methods of transmitting these values and the forms of classes seem more preferable and coherent. Schools 'attract' those parents whose basic life attitudes align and correlate with the school's mission, values, and strategy. The study aimed to identify factors influencing the development of alternative education in large cities. To achieve this, information was collected and analyzed on 667 private alternative educational projects in the five largest cities of Russia (Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan). In each city, five leaders of private alternative educational projects were identified and interviewed in-depth. Interviews and focus groups were also conducted with experts in alternative education. The study revealed that the concentration of maximum professional, infrastructural, economic, cultural, religious, political-ideological, and social diversity in large cities is a precondition for the development of alternative school education. Stimulating factors for the development of alternative education in large cities include overcrowded schools and the quality of education not meeting parents' expectations. The factor of parents plays a significant role: their age, involvement in their children's education, high level of information, etc. The lifestyle of city dwellers is a formative factor. Here, two strategies can be identified: the 'all inclusive' strategy and the strategy of education connoisseurs. At the same time, in a large city, there are also limiting factors for the development of alternative education: a complex transport system and logistical component, expensive rent and/or cost of buildings.

- Abstract:
- The article considers the concept of isomorphism of the quality of the educational process and the quality of its result − the education/upbringing of the Student's personality from the position of ecologization of his consciousness and behavior. The relevance of this approach has been confirmed by many researchers of the scientific school of noospherism. The purpose of the research presented in the article was to establish the relationship between the value-moral-spiritual characteristics of a person and such parameters of her moral and ecological consciousness as: the level of subjectivization of natural objects; the personal orientation of the motivation of the attitude to nature in the aggregate of cognitive, aesthetic, pragmatic-consumer (deficient) and spiritual-moral attitudes. The study was conducted using diagnostic methods of value-moral-spiritual orientations of the individual, subjectivization of the natural object, the dominant orientation of the individual in relation to nature, egocentric associations and correlation analysis (according to Pearson) of the individual results of the study obtained in the diagnosis. The subjects were 75 high school and first-year students. The authors revealed the dominant aesthetic and cognitive attitude of boys and girls to nature, the pragmatic-consumer attitude took the last place, which indicates good prospects for greening the educational process and achieving high quality moral and ecological education of Students in it.

- Abstract:
- The article presents results of a study of cognitive activity in children of the seventh year of life attending a preschool educational institution. The relevance of the study is due to a decrease in the level of cognitive activity of modern preschoolers, which may become one of the reasons for difficulties in mastering educational activities in the future. The effectiveness of the organization of psychological and pedagogical activities for the development of this activity is largely determined by knowledge about the specifics of its manifestation, and therefore there is a need to obtain new scientific data on the specifics of the manifestation of cognitive activity in children of this age. The article presents a brief overview of the available data on the formation of cognitive activity in preschool age, reflects the results of an empirical study conducted by the author of the article. The purpose of the study was to identify the features of the development of cognitive activity in children of the 7th year of life. The study was carried out in the form of a ascertaining experiment using a set of diagnostic techniques. The sample consisted of 41 pupils of preparatory groups of kindergartens. On the basis of the selected structure of cognitive activity in the study, specific features of the manifestation of this activity in children of the specified age were established.

- Abstract:
- The relevance of the research is due to the increasing use of the Internet and the lack of reliable information about the Internet exposure on higher mental functions of the users of different age. The aim of the study is to detect the short-term effect of the Internet use on indirect memorization in adults. The study has been conducted in terms of intraindividual quasi-experiment, that assessed the accuracy of memorization in two conditions: traditional reading (a book), web-search (a mobile phone). The pictogram test in the author’s variant was the main tool to assess the memory of adults. The research was held among teachers during classes of training courses (n=50; 12 males, 38 females; average age 44,56±4,11). To implement a scheme of a positionally equalized sequence of sampling, the sample was divided into 2 groups. In the results, one third of the sample showed the same level of accuracy in memorizing words in different conditions. Most of the participants demonstrated positive trends while reading (р≤0,01). While the number of mistakes was three times more for the web-search.

- Abstract:
- The purpose of the study is to identify the features of mnemic activity as part of its structural components in older preschool children with mental retardation. Tasks: to identify typical and individual features of the development of mnemic activity in children with mental retardation in comparison with their normally developing peers; to identify specific features in the development of indicators of each structural component of mnemic activity in children developing normally and with mental retardation. The hypothesis of the study: mnemic activity as part of its structural components in 5-6-year-old children with mental retardation is characterized by specific features in comparison with normatively developing children. Research methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific literature on the research problem, ascertaining experiment, quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data obtained, methods of their interpretation. Results of the study: the paper presents a comparative characteristic of the features of mnemic activity as part of its three components: motivational, target, operational and technical in children 5-6 years old with ZPR and their peers of the normative variant of ontogenesis. It has been established that children aged 5-6 years with mental retardation have a lower level of MD compared to normative preschoolers. In the structure of mnemonic activity, the “leading” component is the motivational one: preschoolers with mental retardation exhibit a stable, emotionally positive attitude towards accepting the task and the content of the mental activity. The target component is characterized by a lack of understanding of the meaning of the activity being carried out, as well as the mnemonic task itself, the inability to independently accept and maintain the goal of remembering, extremely low values of the volume of reproduced information. The operational and technical component of this type of activity is very weak: there is a dominance of mnemonic techniques of a mechanical nature, or their absence, as well as poor awareness of them, making a large number of errors during reproduction, lack of independence in performing the proposed tasks, turning to an adult for help in the process of control and MD assessments, or refusal of activities.

- Abstract:
- The article presents the results of a theoretical analysis of literary sources on the problem of human qualimetry and education. The relevance of this study is determined by the fact that at the moment the education system is undergoing serious changes due to the transition to the national system of higher education, which is largely determined by the spiritual and moral attitudes of specific teachers, Teachers, heads of the education system, both at the level of a specific educational organization and at the level of the Russian state. The scientific hypothesis of the theoretical study is the position that the Teacher's pedagogical skills, his professional and personal qualities, educational and educational technologies that he uses are fundamentally isomorphic to the quality of education reflected in the qualities of the Student's personality (education, upbringing). As research methods, the theoretical analysis of more than 100 works by A.I. Subetto and other authors is used from the position of applying the principles of isomorphism of professional and personal qualities of a Teacher in the educational, educational process of a Student. As a result of the theoretical analysis, 7 main positions of the Russian scientific qualimetric school in the field of education and personality are identified.
