    Abstract:
In the context of rapid digitalization of education and the transformation of social realities, rethinking pedagogical competencies becomes critically important for fostering sustainable learning motivation among school students. Based on an analysis of contemporary research and practices, the authors identify key areas, including the development of a teacher's emotional intelligence, the use of active and gamified teaching methods, and the creation of a supportive learning environment that promotes students' psychological well-being. Special attention is given to the role of digital tools, such as interactive platforms and online resources, in enhancing motivational strategies. The research findings are structured in a table illustrating the relationship between UPC and specific methods for increasing motivation, such as project-based learning, task differentiation, and the use of multimedia resources. The study emphasizes the need for continuous professional development of teachers, including mastering new technologies and improving emotional competence. The work contributes to the theory and practice of modern education by offering practical solutions for adapting pedagogical approaches to the challenges of the digital age.

The emphasis is made on the development of communication skills and the adaptation of educational materials to specific professional fields. The article discusses the results of the empirical study showing positive changes in students' learning motivation and progress. The use of GAI contributes to more effective and personalized learning, improves vocabulary, grammatical accuracy and writing skills. However, the successful implementation of GAI requires additional knowledge and training of teachers, as well as focusing on the educational context. Special attention is paid to the need for a balanced approach when using GAI in order to avoid dependence on technology and preserve the positive experience gained in the process of applying traditional teaching methods.

  • The role of the discipline "Russian and foreign literature" in the training of a modern military specialist

    Research Article
Development of education Volume 8 No 2
    Author:
    Yuliya N. Kuznetsova
    Work direction:
    Pedagogy and Modern Education
    Abstract:
The article substantiates the importance of studying the discipline "Russian and Foreign literature" in the training of cadets of military universities in Russia. It is noted that when reading and analyzing the works provided for in the program, future officers form ideas about the causes of socio-economic, military-political, moral and moral crises of different historical eras, and develop respect for the historical heritage. The educational role of fiction is substantiated, as well as the need for cadets of military universities to study the works of domestic and foreign writers about the war, during which not only the cultural horizons of future officers are expanded, but also high moral qualities of the individual are formed: a sense of patriotism, pride in their profession. It is summarized that the quality of patriotic education of future officers directly depends on their ability to resist the enemy, the ability to show fortitude and reveal the "Russian character", in critical moments to raise the fighting spirit of their colleagues, to be an example of a true patriot, ready to sacrifice his life for the sake of a lofty idea – the defense of the Fatherland, the protection of his people.

    Abstract:
This work is devoted to the development of the spheres of individuality of a university student through the integration of an electronic course into the educational process during foreign language classes for the first- and second-year bachelor students of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. The creation of a specially designed course in the electronic information and educational environment (https://eios.kantiana.ru/) is based on a number of principles: individualization and variability of the studying process, practical focus of the educational material. The electronic learning course allows the student to develop spheres of individuality through planning and building an educational route, through the choice of educational material, preparation of creative project works, through monitoring academic progress, and etc. Experimental verification of the exposed hypothesis that the development of the student’s individuality spheres will be quite effective provided that a specially created electronic learning course is implemented into the educational process, allowing to activate all student’s mental processes when studying a foreign language. This verification is realized in accordance with three stages. The obtained results have confirmed the proposed hypothesis about a positive influence of the electronic learning course on the development of spheres of individuality of a student in the process of studying.

  • Metacognitive scaffolding in teaching English for law students

    Research Article
Development of education Volume 8 No 2
    Author:
    Victoria V. Vlasicheva
    Work direction:
    Pedagogy and Modern Education
    Abstract:
Metacognitive support in foreign language classes for law students is considered as a potentially effective pedagogical technology that fosters students’ ability to self-manage their learning process. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of introducing metacognitive elements into English lessons for law students through a comparative analysis of students’ level of metacognitive awareness before and after the experimental period. The article presents the results of an empirical study involving 30 students, equally divided into two groups (control and experimental). Students’ metacognitive awareness was measured twice: at the beginning and the end of the experiment by an author-developed questionnaire consisting of 15 questions in three blocks. Statistical processing of the results was performed in Excel. For 14 weeks, students in the experimental group completed tasks aimed at developing planning, monitoring, and self-evaluation skills. The results of the experiment showed an increase in the level of metacognitive awareness of students in the experimental group by an average of 21,5%. The practical significance and novelty of the study is in the validation of metacognitive educational technologies in the class of Legal English. The practical tasks can be used to design educational programmes and teaching materials aimed at developing students’ skills in independent information work, critical thinking, and self-regulation.

    Abstract:
This article provides a detailed analysis of the methods of project and problem-oriented learning. The methods presented by the authors of the article are considered to be the most effective in the process of training students of regional studies in accordance with the requirements of the competence approach of the federal state educational standards. The authors conducted an analytical review of theoretical ideas about regional studies. The article reveals the opposite points of view of domestic scientists on its understanding – these are the studies of V.V. Makarenko and V.A. Gorbanyov. The article presents the teaching methods that are the most effective for the formation of the necessary competencies in students within the framework of the realization of the requirements of the federal state educational standards. Such methods included: "Challenge Based Learning", "Pebble in the Pond", 4C/ID (4 components – 4 components and instructional design – pedagogical design), business game. The result of the study was the conclusion that the basis of regional studies is best reflected in the interdisciplinary approach, which combines both classical methods of training bachelors and masters and modern methods.

    Research Article
Development of education Volume 8 No 2
    Authors:
Svetlana V. Veliyeva, Elena V. Zorina, Svetlana V. Yeshmeikina
    Work direction:
    Psychology in Education
    Abstract:
The article examines the features of self-regulation of educational activity in senior adolescents depending on their level of reflexivity. At the first stage, reflexivity levels were determined in 257 students of grades 10–11 and 1–2-year medical college students using the reflexivity questionnaire by A.V. Karpov and V.V. Ponomareva and the differential reflexivity test by D.A. Leontiev and E.N. Osin. At the second stage, the features of self-regulation among adolescents with different levels of reflexivity were studied using the questionnaire "Style of Self-Regulation of Academic Activity – SSUD-M" by V.I. Morosanova. The results showed a predominance of the average level of reflexivity, a complete absence of a high level, and a significant proportion of adolescents with low reflexivity. Statistically significant differences in indicators of systemic reflection and introspection between groups with low and average reflexivity were revealed. Adolescents with an average reflexivity level demonstrated higher rates of planning, programming, evaluation of results, responsibility and independence in educational activities compared to peers with low reflexivity. The obtained data confirm the importance of reflection as a psychological mechanism contributing to successful self-regulation of educational activity and emphasize the need for targeted psychological and pedagogical work aimed at developing reflexive abilities of senior adolescents in the educational process.
