Abstract

School, being the upmost institute of children's socialisation, must create proper conditions for their development, providing safe education environment, assisting and supporting children in such way that it ensures psychological and pedagogical support of the students. Nowadays, modern school appears as the high-risk object due to the high level of challenges and threats which may be both subjective and objective. The system of psychological and pedagogical support of children is one of the conditions of creation of psychologically safe environment of school. The article examines some of the actual problems connected with the effective creation and functioning of the system of psychological and pedagogical support. Such problems include the need for correction of professional expertise of the school psychologist and the teacher. During the phase of academic studies their vocational training should include not only the competence aimed at the realisation of support but the students themselves should become the part of this system.
