Abstract

A teacher working with gifted children should take into account the peculiarities of motivation of gifted students, strive to activate it and maintain it at the proper level in order to increase the effectiveness of professional activities. The article presents four types of gifted children, identified based on the level and type of motivation. The characteristic of behavioral features and specifics of educational activities of representatives of each type is given. Examples of psychological and pedagogical support that are most effective for each type are pointed out.
